Shinto Shrine – Sacred Arch

Here is another image that I worked on for my Instagram page (Camthesquid). This was done through photoshop, and at the time I was experimenting with a lot of different brushes. Those of you who know me, know that I love Asian culture, and for this piece I wanted to try my hand at drawing an arch way of a Shinto Shrine.

From my limited knowledge, I know Shinto Shrines are suppose to house a “God” or “Gods” of the Shinto religion. I had the idea to align the mountains and sky in the middle of the arch as a nod to mother nature and I feel like it really came together after the rays of light were added. At the end of the day, I find these shrines beautiful and wanted to digitally draw/paint one, isn’t that how anyone starts a piece of art work?
