Here is a brief description of the process behind the painting.

The start of this painting:

  1. The idea of using broken pieces behind a blue/light-blue back drop came from the idea of glass, However after showing a friend, he suggested that we ultimately called the pattern glaciers. As it mimics a birds eye view of broken ice.
  2. The second part of the watercolor I wanted to add yellow to draw the eye deeper into the glaciers, and gives a vibrant glow. I also wanted to add a woman in the bottom left looking like she had just woke up from a long sleep.
  3. The third part is the color section for the woman to really add depth to the picture and what I wanted to say with the piece. Her hair was lightly patterned after a ribbon as if coming from a Christmas present. The hair turned out great, in the end photo. (really happy with the way it turned out).

What I wanted to show was an illusion of speech and memory within the piece. Often times we look for patterns in our lives that we cling too, wither they are right or wrong.  Though with a certain view point our delusion can be beautiful and our failures can teach us to continuously seek out the truth in our lives.
