The architecture in Scotland is so amazing that we here at Squidink-art.com, couldn’t resist doing a second post about it. In this post we wanted to cover the amazing castle that resides in the timeless city of Edinburgh! and the William Wallace Monument in Sterling Scotland.
Edinburgh Castle (Shown above) was built in the 12th century, and has many different angles and stone work that are pleasant to the eye no matter what time of year. Let Edinburgh Castle transport you to a time of lords and ladies as it’s beauty encompasses the rich history of an elegant kingdom.
Here at the Edinburgh castle you’ll see many works of art other than the Architecture, from flags, banners, and also stain glass windows. Though these items only enhance the great stone structure, they are often involved with heroes of the Scottish culture and also of the different clans scattered across the land.
Inside the castle you’ll see decor of swords and shields, stainless steal armor, and of course scattered blunderbuss’s and long spears. The Edinburgh Castle is set upon a hill and had a military advantage because of its surroundings. This once beautiful structure is now not weaponized, but is used more for tourist attractions. The only explosions coming from this place is the occasional fireworks every year for Scotland world famous New Years holiday, Hogmanay.
The craftsmanship is wonderful, and the art of the smith (swords, armor, spears, ballyhoo) has placed this area as a must see tourist destination. We here at Squidink-art.com will always remember the majestic castle at the top of the city of Edinburgh. As dreamers and artist, we salute you Scotland.
